A Parent’s Daily Prayer for Their Teenager and Young Adult
As parents, our hearts are deeply connected to the well-being of our children, particularly as they journey and navigate through the challenging phase of adolescence and adulthood. During these crucial years, my daily prayer for my teenager is always guiding us through the challenges and joys of parenting.

Prayer for My Teenager and Young Adult

Dear Heavenly Father,
As I humbly bow down before You now, I lift up the precious soul of my teenage daughter/son to You. During this period of transformation and development, Father I seek divine intervention to envelop, safeguard, and shape (name)———— into his/ her intended self. The way you would have (name)———–to be.
Lord, may my teenager be blessed with the ability to make wise decisions and right choices so that she/he can live with honesty and authenticity. The passage in Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to place our full trust in your power Lord, rather than relying solely on our own knowledge. By acknowledging your power in all aspects of (name)———- lives, you promised me guidance and direction for my son/ daughter. May this truth deeply resonate within (name)———— heart, guiding them to seek Your wisdom in all their decisions.
Oh, Father, I pray that you will bless (name)————- academically. May they be diligent, heart-minded, and persistent in their studies, while also remembering that genuine wisdom stems from reverence for You. as Proverbs 9:10 teaches that “fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Let them grasp the importance of humility alongside knowledge and continue to pursue growth in both intellect and character.
Oh Lord, may your blessings pour upon their friendships and relationships. Help them, Lord, to surround themselves with positive influences while also guiding them to be wary of negative influences. Quoting from 1 Corinthians 15:33, it is a reminder that the company we keep can influence our character as “evil communications corrupt good manners.” May you please protect them from negative influences, and may their friendships be based on love, respect, unity, boldness and a common commitment.
I place their dreams and aspirations in your dear hands, Father. Encourage (name) ————- to acknowledge that their talents and abilities are blessings from above and that they should use them for your cause and to utilise them for the greater good. May (name) ———– wholeheartedly follow their passions that You instill in his/her with a sense of humility and thankfulness. Father, please prioritise your guidance over their own wishes. Quoting from Jeremiah 29:11, it’s a comforting reminder that there are plans for their prosperity and well-being, offering hope for the future. Thank you, Lord, for knowing the thoughts that you have for my child / children “thought of peace and not of evil.” May this promise be a source of strength and direction for my teenager’s soul.
